Kalphria Wilson, Individual and Family Therapist

    Serves Residents of DC

Kalphria (Pronouns: she/her) is a Licensed Individual Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia who has had over seven years providing clinical services in trauma-informed settings. She has obtained a Master’s in Social Work, Clinical Track from the University of Maryland-Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in Sociology from the Florida State University.

Kalphria seeks to hold space for individuals on the path to healing from trauma, violence, systemic oppression, abuse, and grief and loss. She is passionately committed to working with marginalized groups to address inequalities in race, gender, sexual identity and sexual orientation.

Kalphria grounds her therapeutic work in Systems Theory and uses tenets of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing Therapy. However, she does not believe that there is only one pathway to healing and adjusts to meet each individual’s unique needs.

In her free time, Kalphria enjoys traveling to expand her knowledge and experience with different cultures, attending events with live music, and tending to her plant babies.

    Mercedez Mitchell, Clincal Intern

Mercedez Mitchell is a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in DC. Mercedez is originally from New Jersey but has called Baltimore home for the last few years.

Mercedez  attended the illustrious Morgan State University and graduated with a B.S in Psychology. While there, she supported several research projects being done by professors and was seen as an asset to the team because of her attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. She brings those same skills to the therapy room as she takes time to get to know clients and is creative in considering solutions to their challenges. She enjoys talking with other young women and men on emotional and social issues that face our world today.

Mercedez is eager to support people that are going through life transitions, young adults dealing with family issues, and recent high school graduates figuring out life. She connects very well with young adults that are going into their careers and want to not only understand themselves, but overcome challenges. Mercedez describes herself as an introvert but enjoys hearing people’s stories and learning about their life.  Outside of her studies, Mercedez enjoys reading, exercising, and attending church with friends.
